        Awards and Grants  

- 2012 Research Prize, attributed by the School of Economics and Management of the University of Minho, to the paper "Election results and opportunistic policies: A new test of the rational political business cycle model" published in Public Choice 2011, co-authored with Toke Aidt and Francisco Veiga.

- March 2011: The research project Political Business Cycles and Economic Voting was funded by Foundation for Science and Technology (118 501/2010).

 - Aug. 2007: The research project Political Competition and Economic Performance was funded by Foundation for Science and Technology (65 711/2006).
